Consistent with the overall goal to focus on leading edge ideas and advances in the field of regenerative medicine, the Biomaterial and Tissue Engineering section will endeavour to publish studies into novel approaches or with provocative implications in both the translational and basic science of regenerative medicine.
Areas of interest will include:
(1) production and characterisation of novel biomaterials;
(2) fabrication and characterisation of innovative scaffolds;
(3) techniques for scaffold production;
(4) scaffold sensorization;
(5) novel methods for the analysis of cell activities in cells seeded on a scaffold;
(6) design, realization and characterisation of bioreactors able to mimic the physiological cues of natural tissues or organs;
(7) development of in vitro models of tissue/organ/system based on tissue engineering approaches;
(8) design and realization of innovative platforms for the production of tissue engineered scaffolds;
(9) application of biofabrication approaches to the tissue engineering area;
(10) production and characterisation of novel bioinks
